Toni A. Giovannini LCSW, BA, RN

Growing up in the Lakeview area of Chicago, brought me to the realization that “family” is the most important influence in my life. “Neighborhood” living provided connections with neighbors, childhood friends and a close knit Italian family. Caretaking and a sincere concern for individuals was the impetus for me to pursue a Nursing career (De Paul University); followed with raising my own family;

and then proceeding to the profession of Social Work and Counseling (Loyola University). After one year interning in the School Social Work program I was convinced that this was my “love”. For almost 25 years, part of which was a year counseling those in the Gifted Program in Lake Forest, I continued along this path at School District 64, Middle School/Junior High. I am thrilled to continue in the profession of counseling at the private level. Family, friends and neighbors come for guidance and I attempt to support, listen and empower those who are in need at these particular times in their lives. I don’t have a “magic wand” I have a “love for people”. The Social Work profession allows me to provide this for them. Some of the avenues available are: Relaxation techniques, Grief and Loss concerns, Anger issues, ADHD diagnoses, support for couples going through Divorce, Individual and Group sessions for Adults, Children, and Families.
